"Aural Acoustics Model B ($4500)
The proof is in the listening. I was not really prepared for the exceptional linearity, full-bodied frequency extension and natural voicing of the three-way floor-standing Aural Acoustics Model B. Incorporating as it does, some of the finest transducers available (including the SEAS Millennium tweeter), employing harmonic time alignment and a phase coherent crossover network with a staggered phase coherent driver alignment-and his own patent pending AccuRange(tm) technology (which the designer claims to dampen and absorb the rear wave characteristics of a driver to eliminate cabinet colorations). Very involving and non-fatiguing, the Model B sounds much bigger than its size, is very musical and well worth an audition."
The Model B and AccuRangeTM technology has gotten great press and wonderful reviews from the industry! Debuted at the Home Entertainment 2005 NYC Show, the Model B has received amazing reviews:
“Based on what I heard at the Home Entertainment 2005 Show, Aural Acoustics has a promising future. The Model B speaker the company demonstrated produced a deep, deep soundstage--it sounded almost as if I'd knocked a hole into the wall of a great-sounding concert hall and stuck my head in--and reproduced voices especially accurately. Although the treble is delicate and subtle, the speakers play gratifyingly loud without distortion. (It’s so nice to encounter a new high-end company that’s designing its speakers to suit real-world material instead of just the owner’s favorite chamber music.) The prototypes I saw of other new models suggest that the Model B concept will carry over easily into the home theater environment, too. I'm looking forward to hearing more.”
Brent Butterworth, Editor in Chief, Robb Report Home Entertainment
“…the most pleasant find of the (Home Entertainment) show was the Aural Acoustics Model B.”
“…sounded like they should cost much more.”
“…you could build a to-die-for home theater.”
“…the Model Bs were so good they made us beg that the company would complete the prototype center speaker in short order.” “…looked great, too.”
Darryl Wilkinson, Home Theater Magazine
“The Aural Acoustics Model B loudspeaker boasted a lot of technology and design consideration for a $4500 loudspeaker and the results certainly justified their effort and more than justified the price.”
”With its small footprint, fresh design, and outstanding sound, I was very impressed with this loudspeaker.”
“The Model B has an awful lot going for it.”
Rick Becker, EnjoyTheMusic.com

David Chesky, Chesky Records
“...natural, inviting..”

"Here I found from the first note an experience of
involvement and the pleasure of music. The Aural Acoustics were, as in live music, convincing in dynamics, rich in instrument detail, and coherent in presentation across the soundstage. I was simply drawn into enjoying the performance. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a wonderfully emotional experience from the source, whether it be a music or dynamic home theater system."
-Skip Lowell, Home Technology
"The Aurals (Model B) are an amazing value. If they gave a best value award at the show I am sure the Aurals would have won."
-Tony Plachy, Steve Hoffman HE2005 Forum Report
“From Aural Acoustics of Greenvale, New York, comes a really good speaker, their Model B, for $4500, premiered at the show, sang a great tune. Its phased-array design and individual driver chambers add up to a solid value. Powered by a 50 watt Conrad-Johnson, it played full out and powerfully, with a very musical sound that was a joy to hear. This speaker is going places! This is a true bargin at the price for a full-range floor stander.”
