Model B

For years, music lovers have been waiting for the next great advancement in audio reproduction. We are proud to introduce the Aural Model B, which debuts AccuRangeTM patent pending technology and the PureSound Phased ArrayTM. And when combined with the world’s finest drivers, innovative cabinet design and a high quality crossover, the results are simply stunning.
AccuRangeTM Patent Pending Technology
The Aural Acoustic Model B is the first loudspeaker to offer AccuRangeTM patent-pending technology. AccuRangeTM technology effectively dampens and absorbs rear wave response over an incredibly wide range of frequencies, much wider than any existing cabinet technology on the market! In a traditional dynamic loudspeaker enclosure, the rear wave response of a woofer or midrange driver reflects off the internal cabinet walls and returns to the driver. This causes detrimental frequency aberrations, resulting in higher distortion, more coloration, extreme loss of detail and poor decay response. With AccuRangeTM this rear wave response is properly dampened over a larger range of frequencies, which eliminates the normal detrimental effects of the rear wave response. In fact, AccuRangeTM technology is the first cabinet design to effectively dampen frequencies below 500HZ, over 4 octaves of frequencies. The results are astonishing. The overall level of detail increases since the noise floor of the loudspeaker is lower. Now subtle details can be heard which usually are lost in playback. The loudspeaker is also more accurate to the source material since the level of coloration caused by the driver’s rear wave response has been diminished. The speed of the loudspeaker’s response has now increased, since there isn’t as much air movement from the rear wave response reflecting off the internal cabinet walls and returning to the driver. Lastly, the soundstage will become more three dimensional and holographic in nature. The loudspeaker is now closer to reproducing the actual source material and therefore brings the listener closer to the music.
PureSound Phase Array
The aspiration of all loudspeakers is to replicate the original musical performance as accurately and realistically as possible. The PureSound Phase ArrayTM makes this objective a reality. It combines various harmonic technologies and cabinet refinements to create the most realistic music replication. The PureSound Phase ArrayTM combines:
Harmonic Time Alignment- All frequencies produced by drivers emanate from the voice coil. If all the drivers’ voice coils aren’t in parallel and aligned with one another, then different frequencies will reach the listener’s ear at different speeds. The result will be an unrealistic soundstage, lack of coherency and an overall inaccurate representation of the actual music. Harmonic Time Alignment occurs when the voice coils are aligned and the natural speed of the music represented properly.
Phase Coherent Driver Arrangement- All the drivers have been mounted to ensure perfect phase response. This will result in a more accurate overall response. Also, all drivers have been mounted on-axis with the listener’s position and not on a “slope.” This ensures perfect phase response.
Phase Correct Crossover Network- The crossover has been optimized for perfect phase response with no complicated circuitry to irregular phase shifts.
Isolated Free-Floating Baffles- Careful consideration has been taken to mount the drivers on a vibration free baffle utilizing bituminous felt. This results in a cleaning response and lower noise floor.
Low Diffraction grills- The speaker has been designed and calibrated for the listener to use with the grills on. Special acoustically transparent material has been incorporated and rounded grill sides provide no harsh edges for waves to reflect off.
Individual Optimized Driver Chambers- Each internal driver chamber has been optimized in volume and shape for the driver. The midrange driver, in particular, has an optimized acoustic suspended cylinder, which provides an uncanny natural response

Tweeter
We use a one inch SonotexTM Dome tweeter with HexadymTM patented magnetic structure which provides incredibly low distortion. The Soft SonotexTM diaphragm is more rigid then a typical soft dome tweeter which provides a more piston like movement for higher levels of accuracy and detail. The diaphragm also suffers from no metallic coloration or ring frequency and provides amazingly fast transient response for an open, three dimensional soundstage. This tweeter can be found in other loudspeaker costing 3 to 4 times as much as the Model B!

Midrange
After experimenting with numerous diaphragm combinations, we found the perfect material for the ultimate combination of speed, detail and accuracy. A hand woven blend of carbon fiber and Kevlar were chosen for their ability to be incredibly rigid and accurate but without any break-up or ring frequencies that cause frequency aberrations and high levels of distortion. The diaphragm is also extremely light which allows the midrange to be very fast with excellent transient response. The machined aluminum phase plug provides a more accurate frequency response and better off-axis response. The four inch driver is mounted in a volume optimized fully isolated acoustic suspended cylinder which provides a very accurate response.

Woofer
The seven inch treated paper bass driver with KaptonTM Voice Coil Former provides excellent bass resolution and dynamic response. This driver in combination with AccuRangeTM Technology provides amazingly deep, accurate bass without sacrificing transient response and speed. Since AccuRangeTM technology effectively minimizes the rear wave driver response, the driver acts as if it is in a larger enclosure. Therefore, in a relatively compact tower, we can achieve bass response that normally would require a much larger cabinet and bass driver. The bass now has the speed and accuracy of a smaller driver with the deep bass response and power of a larger driver.
Crossover
The crossover has the responsibility of blending all of a loudspeaker’s drivers together so they sound coherent and cohesive without adding any additional noise and distortion and while keeping the source signal as accurate and natural as possible. That’s a tough job! And every element of the Model B’s crossover network is designed to accomplish this difficult task. We use film/foil low distortion capacitors which are typically found in speaker designs costing three to four times as much as the Model B. These capacitors are easier to drive, offer a lower noise floor and have greater detail then normal metalized polypropylene capacitors. Our air coil copper inductors are extremely accurate and easy to drive. The networks are hand wired without the use of sound sacrificing circuit boards. The network is phase coherent and wide bandwidth, high power handling drivers are used in the Model B to ensure maximum coherency with minimal phase shifts.
